midsommar
Inspired by the psychedelic and beautifully eerie visual themes in this A24 film, I reimagined the movie poster with a handmade floral type. The type was created, arranged, and photographed by hand, then digitally distorted to capture the tension from the movie—disturbing scenes set among a strikingly beautiful landscape.

To make the type, I cut out each letterform and made a collage overlay using floral calendar images. I then arranged silk and dried flowers on top of the cutout, layering them to mimic the look of the May Queen dress debuted at the end of the film.
